上周五离开Dublin去旅行之前参观了女儿小学的Garden Open Day, 其中六年级的合唱团演唱了一首“You raise me up”, 让我震撼于她们天籁般的嗓音，也震撼于这首动人的歌曲，因此查了一下这首歌的来历。

  wikipedia上专门有这首歌的词条：You Raise Me Up. 原来这首歌最早为Secret Garden所创，他们也是我曾经非常喜欢的乐队（刚刚发现他们也是爱尔兰的乐队，和Enya, Westlife, U2, 可儿，小红莓等都是来自爱尔兰）。 这首歌被west life演唱过，是全世界范围内被演唱最多、最流行的歌曲：

通过新春秋 。 Pandemonium的“歲末碎碎念”听到这首非常动听的歌，声音很美，歌词也非常美：

（我没有找到歌词，在寻找歌词的时候，从搜索结果看到的满屏都是各种中文垃圾网站的内容，顺手点开几个不是粗俗的广告就是试图安装插件其实根本没有歌词，不愿意被这些东西影响了听歌心情就此作罢。）

顺着寻下去，发现这首“花(すべての人の心に花を)-夏川りみ”, 原来我们所熟知的周华建的“花心”原唱出于这首。在这里找到的歌词和听歌感受：

没有想到平安夜已经来临…

一直对圣诞节和平安夜没有太多的感觉，读大学的时候似乎也有些圣诞活动但觉得和自己没有任何关系也没有什么印象。

关于平安夜我印象最深的就是96年（wow, 10年多了…）住在紫金山北麓花园路的时候，平安夜跑到边上林大去混结果教室里冷冷清清体育馆却人满为患，无聊回来听Mariah Carey唱的《Silence Night》, 那天有月亮很明亮于是又听了贝多芬的《月光》…所以后来我想起平安夜就总想起一个很冷但月光很美的夜晚独自对着门前黝黑的紫金山的轮廓听音乐的场景。

今夜没有月光，但音乐很美，思路很流畅，代码很优美…

上高一的时候做了英语科代表，当时的英语老师邹国平老师是我至今遇到的最好的老师之一，他在课上弹吉它、唱英文歌、给我们每个人起英文名字、把国外的报纸、旅游彩页分发给大家看…让我从此对英语产生了浓厚的兴趣。

我的初中是在农村中学上的，学校虽然简陋但老师非常负责和勤奋，可是农村里英文老师很少只能靠一些有些英文基础的其他老师代课，这是很难改变的事实。结果英文成了我第一次挂红灯的课程，虽然后来经过努力（以及来了一个新年轻英文老师的原因）成绩也不错了，但只是应付考试而已。

考取了在大城市里的重点高中、当了英语科代表，而且老师是如此风华正茂、不落传统教育俗套的风格，这对我今后的英语产生了深远的影响。而英语的能力，对我今后的喜好的计算机学习、对外交流、工作、生活、旅行都带来了很大的便利，可以说如果没有这次对英语从恐惧到喜爱的改变，也许我的人生线索将是另外的一条。

作为英语科代表一个任务之一是在中午的休息时间，组织大家学习英文歌。我学的第一首歌是“It’s a long way to Tipperary.”, 第二首是"Yesterday once more"。Yesterday once more, 是当之无愧的经典，在今后我再从磁带上听到这首歌，直到她是Carpenters的作品后，从此成为了Carpenters fans, 至今不变。不过当初听得时候，只觉得声音是如此的柔软和温暖，着之前还从来没有听过这么美丽的歌曲，在当时的1987年，来自曾经的“革命老区”农村的孩子，唯一能听到的就是那些革命歌曲或者颂歌性质的东西，来自“腐朽堕落的资本主义”的声音在第一次触及耳膜和心灵带来的居然是如此的温暖。

其实“It’s a long way to Tipperary”给我的印象更深刻，可是从此以后这么多年，却没有再听到什么人唱过。记得学的时候有一个最不解的事情，就是据说这是过去英国的军歌，但里面的唱的却不是“向前向前向前”或者“英雄的热血染红她”之类的豪言壮语，却是要回到远方姑娘身边的思乡之愁，隐约觉得“只有赤裸裸金钱关系资本主义国家”里面似乎有一些触及人性内心深处的东西。

上大学的时候，在一战经典浪漫电影《鸳梦重温(Random Harvest 1942)》中听到庆祝胜利背景中依稀听到过这首歌，但稍纵即逝。04年年的某一天，突然想起了这首歌，在我当时的blog上记录下了她，回头去看看发现那是2004年11月18日的晚上，而现在是2007年11月17日！

今天恰好看Panoramino上新发布的sightseeing, 正在一个页面上随手浏览着想看看离我最近的有哪些可以去看看的著名景点，"Tipperary"这个地名无声地出现在了我的视野，如果这就是那首歌里的地点，那么她离我现在的位置可能也就只有一两个小时的车程，怎么也应该去看看！在wikipedia上，找到了这首歌的来龙去脉：
